Survivors of an underground kingdom of Svartalfhir destroyed by The Desolate, these Dark Elves live only for revenge.

When greater beings scheme and plot against each other, lesser beings are frequently caught in the crossfire. The Oussrae-Thex are a group of such beings. Their own homes and lands destroyed by the machinations of outside invaders and their own gods, the Svartalfhir of House Oussrae-Thex have taken refuge with The Progeny. The Oussrae-Thex are composed of scattered families and individuals gathered together by the heir to their murdered queens throne, the Princess Thex. Seeking to bind them together in their exile, she changed her own name, and declared all of the people who had gathered under her to be members of one new House, House Oussrae-Thex. This has worked well to promote unity, but The House is simply too small. There are not enough Svartalfhir to continue the bloodlines for more than a few generations. Forced to face the fact of their own extinction unless they interbreed with outsiders, the Svartalfhir of House Oussrae-Thex have chosen The Progeny. While this people will eventually become extinct as they merge into the Progeny over the next few generations, this arrangement has at least one tangible benefit from the perspective of the members of House Oussrae-Thex. Union with The Progeny gives them the perfect opportunity to strike back at the one group responsible for the destruction of their homes and families that lies within their own league: The Desolate. And with a generational span of approximately 400 years, The Oussrae-Thex will be a thorn in the sides of The Desolate for centuries to come. A thought that brings feelings of fell joy to the otherwise empty pits of the hearts of the Oussrae-Thex.

Since their betrayal by the very deities they prayed to for salvation, the Svartalfhir of House Oussrae-Thex refuse to worship any gods. Strangely, they acknowledge their own Matriarch and the Queen of The Progeny as divine beings and their masters. Yet they do not worship or venerate them. This attitude has been encouraged by both Matriarch Oussrae-Thex and The Progeny Queen. Matriarch Oussrea-Thex has culled a small group of the most, fanatical, intelegent and mysticaly tallented women from the House who DO worship her as a goddess, and secreted them off in some other place. It is beleaved that The Oussrae spring from these women. An yet this does not quite make sense to the Oussrae-Thex, as The Oussrae seem to have a very large and well structured society behind them, yet these women have only been gone for a decade.

The Oussrae-Thex are often referred to as The Dark Ones, by the Progeny and The Desolate even though they all share the same dark skin tones. Apparently, it is a nickname acquired from other places during the process of their exile, and it has stuck as it matches their temperament and mood. Perhaps it is their House Matriarch who is referenced by the Dark Scions as their Dark Mistress?
