Basic Stats for Victoriana Firearms

The weapons technology of the more advanced industrial nations of the Victoriana: Alternate Years campaign world has progressed to rifled barrels with brass cartage rounds. While breach fed guns with brass cartridges are primarily an invention of the Northern U.S., they have been copied by The United Kingdom, France, Prussia, and a few others. However, the Northern U.S. remains the largest producer and biggest exporter of cartridge based small arms. While these arms are becoming quite popular and common in the American western frontier, they are actually uncommon and rather expensive in Europe, and are rarely seen outside of professional armies. Only active duty or retired Napoleonic War officers are likely to be encountered “about town” with such weapons. “Normal” people are likely to only have access to the more common flintlock weaponry. Even then, unlike the U.S. with its constitutional right to bear arms, most European countries discourage private citizens from owning firearms. However, supernatural beings, otherworldly visitors, and those who deal regularly with them are rather more likely to be following their own rules than those of polite society.

The following are write-ups for the basic weapons available to characters in Victoriana: Alternate Years. If they have the resources to purchase them, they need not necessarily spend character points on them. Note: All firearms in Victoriana: Alternate Years, are assumed to have the +1 Increased STUN Multiplier advantage, and need not pay for it. Those that do not posses it may take a special campaign disadvantage: Low Velocity (-1/4).
